In a little port on the outskirts of town
A young girl stands alone.
By the sea, there existed
An old tradition from long before

Umbra stood just past the surf as she held a small bottle in her hand.

"Write your wish on a piece of parchment
And place it in a little bottle.
If you let it flow with the sea, someday
Your wish will come true"

She was remembering something her sister told her.

"I heard somewhere that if you write a wish on a piece of paper and put in a bottle to put in the ocean, someday it'll come true." Kasai smiled at Umbra.

"But that's stuff is for peasants. I do not need to take part is this childish game." Umbra frowned, before regretting it when she saw Kasai's face "I mean, Kasai grants all of my wishes anyways, don't you?" she hastily added with a smile.

"Huh? oh yeah. I guess I do." Kasai smiled back.

Flow along, little glass bottle.
With a message containing a wish
On the other side of the horizon
There, it quietly disappears.

Refusing to let her tears fall, Umbra placed the bottle in the water and watched as it slowly drifted away.

You always did everything for my sake
A.ll that I wanted, and yet...
I was always so selfish
And troublesome to you.

A single tear slipped down her cheeks as she realized, not for the first time, how selfish she was. Kasai always did everything for her sake, yet never once did she return the favor. One time in particular stood out.

Umbra gasped as Kasai showed up covered in blood, her face blank of all emotion.

"Sorry if I frightened you Umbra." she finally smiled "I guess I'm in dire need of a bath."

That night Umbra heard crying coming from Kasai's room. Curiosity getting the best of her she stood just out side the door.

"I'm sorry, so so sorry." she heard Kasai cry "I don't deserve your forgiveness Sedo."

"I'm sorry sister." Umbra muttered silently after a few minutes of listening to Kasai cry.

'If only I had realized my mistake before it was to late.' she thought to herself.

You, who grants my wishes
Are no longer here
Will my thoughts, on this sea
Arrive at their destination?

Her thought traveled back to the execution.

It was overcast that day as Vatten lead her sister out to the execution block. Kasai was doing a wonderful job acting as her, or the old her, she supposed. Kasai somehow held her head high even though she was locked in the guillotine. Just as the blade came down Kasai's eyes found her's and she smiled, smiled. The idiot smiled.

Flow along, little wish
Tears and regret
When I realized my sins
It was always after everything was already over

"Why Kasai, why? It's all my fault. Why did you take my place?" she sniffed.

Flow along, little glass bottle
With a message containing a wish
On the other side of the horizon
There, it quietly disappears

Finally giving into the tears she fell to her knees in the shallow water and started sobbing.

"Why Kasai, why?!" she screamed.

Flow along, little wish
Tears and regret

"If we are ever to be reborn..." Umbra hiccuped after a bit.

"It would be nice, if we could be twins once again." she heard a voice that sounded like her sister finish. Startled she looked up but saw that she was alone.

"Yeah," she nodded "It would be wonderful."

Umbra woke from her dream with a start.

"Gaudium, get up sleepy head! You're going to be late for training!" she heard her sister, Humanitas, called.

"Be up in a moment." she called back, and stared up at her ceiling for a long moment.

'What an odd dream...' she thought to herself, the entire thing seared into her mind.

"Gaudium, serious! Don't make me get the bucket!"

"I'm up I'm up!" Umbra scrambled out of bed and rushed to get changed, "Just don't get the bucket!"

Her frantic shout was met with tinkling laughter, and she forgot about the dream for the time being.
